New Talent To Make the Flex Team Stronger
Successful businesses are defined by the people within them. At Flex Systems, we’re proud to have a team that’s packed with dedicated, enthusiastic and, above all, hugely talented individuals. And, in recent months, it’s a team that we’re proud to say has been further enhanced by the arrival of new talent, all of whom are already making a major impact and helping us shape an exciting and bright future.
Welcoming The New Guys
The need to expand our technical and development team reflects the number of high-level projects that we’re working on and have in the pipeline in the months ahead. Not to mention our commitment to further enhancement of our booking and scheduling platform.
A reason why we’re so pleased to be able to welcome aboard the following five team members, each bringing their own skills and experiences to the party.
Jennifer Charles – Senior Developer
Bringing a wealth of experience working with databases, APIs and Microsoft Full Stack Development, Jen has taken up a role as senior developer within the team.
As well as working on some of our key enterprise projects, Jen will also pay a significant role in the enhancement of our technology platform, helping us deliver continually improved user experience for our thinkBooker customers.
From helping those more vulnerable and campaigning for greater equalities for Trans people, to teaching yoga classes, Jen is an active member of the community. During the height of the COVID pandemic, Jen also provided voluntary relief work at a care home and NHS Wales testing unit.
Alex Wood - Developer
Alex joins the team as a developer, working on backend development for both existing clients and new projects. In particular, she’ll be helping the team work on new functionalities that will improve efficiency and performance for our clients.
With a degree in Maths, attained at the University of the West of England, Alex spent four years honing her skills with an engineering company, developing new desktop applications.; before joining the good ship Flex.
Zak Ali – Developer
A passion for web application and software development saw Zak change from an original career path in chemistry to a career in software development.
With an MSc in Computer Science, avid chess player Zac is a welcome and valued addition to the team, contributing to new projects, including the ongoing expansion of our thinkBooker and SafeBook platforms.
Russ Curtis – Test Engineer
Russ brings years of experience as a test engineer to the Flex Systems team.
Having previously worked for a large software company, delivering solutions for a major retail bank, Russ is now part of the team responsible for ensuring that every system is put through rigorous testing during the project and ahead of Go Live and creating test scripts for ongoing site stability.
It’s a crucial role in the business, and a significant contributor to the delivering of systems and software solutions of the highest quality.
Silvia Melecrinis – Technical Support
Another crucial cog in the wheel, Silvia has joined the support team, helping us to deliver responsive, customer-focused and personalised support to many clients.
A first point of contact for our clients, Silvia will help identify and provide a pathway to resolution for any issues that arise; applying her own technical skills in the first instance to advise and help find a solution. She will also be the liaison between customer and development team, ensuring that the right person is on the job and keeping the customer informed through to resolution and beyond.
Growing the Team, Growing the Business
The new team are already settled into the business; contributing their skills and experience to the full pipeline of projects while further enhancing the spirit and culture of a team that has had to face new working conditions (haven’t we all?) over the past six months.
And, as the business continues to grow, as the projects continue to come in and the technology continues to expand, the welcome addition of Jen, Alex, Russ, Silvia and Zak is likely to be followed in the coming months with yet more newcomers – growing the team, growing the business
