Volunteering our web design skills to Royal Voluntary Service

Over the years, we’ve been lucky enough to have worked with some amazing brands, from the Royal Mint Museum and Celtic Manor Resort to Thomas Cook and the FAW Trust. Now we can add another national brand to the list.

Britain’s leading volunteering charity, Royal Voluntary Service appointed us to review the user-experience, design and content of some specific sections of their website.

80 years of matching people with voluntary roles

Founded in 1938, Royal Voluntary Service is a national charity that provides support to people in hospitals and communities by matching volunteers to roles which suit their motivations, lifestyle and location.

They asked us to review and re-design some key aspects of the home page and volunteer section of their website, which will include writing updated website content for specific pages.

Improving the volunteer journey

The main objectives are to effectively communicate Royal Voluntary Service’s positioning and key messages as well as providing an enhanced user experience to volunteers visiting the site.

An important aspect of the project will be improving the volunteer journey for visitors, allowing them to sign up and search based on their location.

As well as being able to find roles within a specific radius, visitors to the site will also be able to search according to their personal motivations for volunteering.

A great place to volunteer

The revamped responsive website design will be launched at the end of March and help position Royal Voluntary Service as a great place for people to volunteer their time and talents.

Lidia Drane, Digital Manager at Royal Voluntary Service is looking forward to revealing the organisation’s new look: “We’re very excited to share the revised sections of our website in March. The user experience, design and content teams from UpriseVSI have helped us to create a fantastic volunteer experience for anyone that visits the site.”

Volunteering our time and talent

Our Managing Director, Gareth Rees Jones, had this to add: “Royal Voluntary Service is an amazing charity that does so much great work to help people volunteer their time and set-up new volunteering initiatives in local communities and hospitals.

“We’re delighted to be working with Royal Voluntary Service on this project and look forward to helping them improve their online presence in order to match more people with volunteering roles.”
