Working Out A New Website for SW7 Academy
It’s always nice to be in the presence of a sporting great. Which is why we’re delighted to announce our appointment to design and develop a new website for SW7 Academy; the online training programme devised by Welsh rugby legend and two-time British and Irish Lions captain, Sam Warburton, along with long-time training partner, Josh Davies.
This is the latest project in which we’ve collaborated with the 79-times capped Grand Slam winning captain, having previously worked on his fundraising events for Velindre Cancer Centre and the website for a hugely successful testimonial year, in 2019, that raised so much for charities including Velindre, Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, Demelza Hospice and the NSPCC.
About SW7 Academy
The SW7 Academy is a programme designed to bring elite-level strength and conditioning training to the masses. The kind of training that rugby players at academies and professional clubs may receive, but which is often out of reach for those in the wider community.
That’s not to say this a training programme exclusively for rugby players, however.
With more than 30-years’ experience of elite training within the team, SW7 helps people maximise their athletic performance, whatever sport they play.
The Academy is the brainchild of Sam Warburton OBE and Josh Davies.
High-level strength and conditioning training has been a major part of Sam’s life since his teenage years, and a significant factor in his meteoric rise from the Cardiff Blues academy to the pinnacle of the sport and the captaincy of both Wales and the British & Irish Lions.
This first-hand knowledge is added to the expertise brought by Josh, a certified personal trainer with more than 15 years’ experience in strength and conditioning training and a track record of creating personal fitness programmes based around exercise and nutrition.
The New Website
Helping to take the Academy and the business to the next level of their growth, Flex Systems is designing and developing a modern new website, aimed at both educating those who visit the site and, primarily, to encourage new sign-ups.
As well as a full design of the front-end, the team will also be implementing the site onto the thinkCMS content management system, which will enable the SW7 Academy to add, amend and update their web content. This will include the ability to add new news and extra landing pages with new training videos and images.
Other Key Website Features
The website will be the hub of the business, both for brand identity and revenue generation. This means visitors will require a positive user experience while being able to access information and be able to sign-up to the programme with ease.
Features that will enable this in the new site development will include:
- Allowing visitors to select a pricing plan, and to sign-up and pay online, via integration with Stripe. SW7 will also have the ability to set-up pricing plans and additional perks or discounts within the back-end
- The ability for SW7 Academy to add extra merchandise (e.g. t-shirts) to orders, with an orders report available in the back-end
- The ability to add and remove advertising on the site, while tracking data on impressions and clicks
- Management of logos, images and links from sponsors on the site
- The ability to create ‘gated content’ to encourage marketing sign-ups by access to exclusive content
- The adding of work-out videos into weekly diary style landing pages
- The ability to create and add video banners to the site
- Integration to the SW7 Academy Instagram feed
Flex Systems is proud of our long-standing legacy of working with some major names from the world of sport over the years, from Welsh institutions such as Cardiff Blues, Glamorgan County Cricket Club, WRU, FAW or Badminton Wales, to those from further afield such as Jacksonville Jaguars, Fulham FC, Crail Golfing Society or Premiership Rugby.
So, to be able to once again work with an iconic sporting role-model such as Sam Warburton and his team, on an initiative that will serve to improve the health, fitness and well-being of those who sign-up for this amazing programme, is something that we’re proud, and really excited to be a part of.
The new SW7 Academy website is already well underway, and will be going live in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for updates.
